Thank you in advance for submitting a Small Animal abstract for presentation at IVECCS 2025. Accepted abstracts will be published in the Journal of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care and the IVECCS proceedings. Abstracts should represent original research not yet published or presented elsewhere and not to be published or presented prior to the IVECCS 2025. Authors of successful abstracts will be notified via e-mail by June 5th, 2025. Accepted abstracts will be presented in person at IVECCS in San Diego, CA on Friday September 5th, 2025 from 7:50 a.m. until noon for resident abstracts and Friday September 5th, 2025 from 1:20 to 5:30 p.m. for general abstracts. Each presentation will be twelve minutes in length followed by a three-minute discussion. Abstracts not accepted for oral presentation may be given the option to be presented as posters. Presenters may choose poster as the primary means of presentation if so desired by indicating preference on the submission website. Authors of accepted abstracts must register for the meeting, and registration is
not complimentary.

Abstracts should represent original research not yet published or presented elsewhere and not to be published or presented prior to the IVECCS 2025. Authors of successful abstracts will be notified via e-mail by June 20th, 2025. Abstracts may be presented as either oral or poster format. Accepted abstracts will be published in the Journal of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care; therefore, close attention must be paid to the format instructions. Failure to follow formatting instructions will result in rejection. No changes will be allowed after submission.
If you are an approved ACVECC, ACVIM, ACVS, or ACVAA resident or ACVECC fellow or enrolled in Large Animal/Equine specific internship, please indicate so on the submission form. House officer’s abstracts will be presented in the same session and special recognition will be given to the most outstanding paper by a resident. If you completed your training program after July 1, 2024, you may present in the resident’s forum if the research was conducted while you were a resident. However, if you are a faculty member of an institution after your resident finished, you should not enter as a resident. Indicate the termination date of your residency in your cover e-mail and provide your mentor’s name and e-mail address.

Thank you in advance for submitting a Pain/Analgesia in Animals abstract for presentation at the IVAPM meeting held concurrently at the IVECCS 2025 in San Diego. Select abstracts will be published in the open access journal Frontiers in Pain Research
Authors of successful abstracts will be notified via e-mail by July 14th, 2025. Accepted abstracts will be presented in person at the IVAPM/ IVECC meeting in San Diego, CA on Friday September 6th, 2025 from 1:30 pm PST to 5:15 pm PST.
Authors of accepted abstracts must register for the meeting, and registration is not complimentary.
Presenters may choose poster as the primary means of presentation if so desired by indicating preference on the submission. The form is available on the IVAPM website or by emailing [email protected].

The journal Frontiers in Pain Research will award monetary prizes to the first authors of the 3 best IVAPM submitted abstracts, as selected by the IVAPM program committee. The amounts awarded will be: 1st prize: $300 USD; 2nd prize: $200 USD and 3rd prize: $150 USD.

Have an interesting case to present? Please submit one page or less summary of the case by May 15th, 2025. The goal of this session is to highlight unique and challenging cases managed by Emergency and Critical Care doctors! The case should have been managed at least in part by the presenter. Preference is given to ACVECC residents in training and those in ER practice for three years or less. Residents are asked to include the name of a mentor who has been involved in evaluating the submission. Small and Large animal cases are encouraged! The top 10 cases will be selected for presentation.

Submit a case synopsis to be considered to present a brief, 10-12 minute technician or nurse case report at IVECCS. Case report submissions are encouraged for unique and interesting case management or exceptional technician or nursing care scenarios. There is no limitation to the species or specific scenario, except that the emphasis should be on the emergency and critical care technician or nursing aspect of the case. Small animal, large animal, exotic, toxicology, internal medicine, anesthesia, and surgery cases are welcome. Must be able to present at IVECCS. Best case report will receive $500.
Candidates should be a credentialed veterinary technician/nurse (CVT, LVT, LVMT, RVT, RVN, CVN, AVN, etc.) and members of VECCS. All case reports must be initially assessed by a VTS, licensed DVM or if applicable a board-certified specialist (ACVS, ACVAA, ACVIM ACVECC…). The individual or assessor is required to initially ensure the quality of the case report being submitted. The top 10 cases will be selected for presentation.

Do you have a remarkable case from your practice that deserves recognition? We invite veterinary practices to share their remarkable cases with the wider community at IVECCS. Cases will be displayed in the Exhibit Hall at IVECCS. Submissions should include a concise summary highlighting the key aspects of the case, accompanied by photos of the pets and/or diagnostic testing. Prior owner permission is required. Each submission should be a single slide, featuring the hospital’s name or logo. There are no restrictions on the number of cases a hospital can submit, provided they were seen and managed by the submitting institution. Please ensure that all submissions adhere to patient confidentiality guidelines, omitting any client identifiers such as names or case numbers. The first name of the pet is acceptable. We look forward to hearing about your extraordinary cases in emergency and critical care, showcasing the incredible work done by veterinary professionals like you!
