Volunteering is an invaluable opportunity to actively contribute to the success of IVECCS. With diverse roles available, some even offering complimentary registration, there’s a way for everyone to get involved!

Moderators

Commit to at least two half-day blocks and receive complimentary lunch packet for all 3-days at IVECCS and an invite to the exclusive Speaker/Moderator Reception (RSVP required).

Requirements:

  • Registered as an attendee, speaker, or exhibitor
  • Able to moderate a full half-day track (morning or afternoon, ~4 hours)
     

Responsibilities:

  • Introduce speakers and support their needs throughout the session
  • Assist with audiovisual setup, lights, sound, and attendee entry/exit
  • Facilitate Q&A and help keep sessions on schedule

Student Volunteers

Students can receive complimentary registration and lunch packet by volunteering for two half-day shifts at IVECCS. In addition, student volunteers receive priority placement in the Gary Stamp Lab, held on the first day of the conference.

Responsibilities include:

  • Scan and verify attendee badges at session entry
  • Assist the Moderator/Instructor with lights, sound, room setup, and equipment
  • Support the session as needed to keep everything running smoothly

Lab Technicians

IVECCS is looking for enthusiastic technicians to help our wet labs run smoothly. This is a great way to actively contribute to the success of the event and be part of the action.

 Requirements:

  • Must be registered as an attendee, speaker, or exhibitor
  • Available to volunteer for at least one half-day block (~6 hours)

Description of Duties:

  • Help instructors set up rooms, stations, and equipment before labs begin
  • Assist with supplies and instructor needs during the session
  • Support lab cleanup and ensure all equipment is returned to its proper place

Lab Supply

Help keep the labs running smoothly by volunteering with the IVECCS Lab Supply Team. We’re looking for technicians or veterinarians who are familiar with the hospital supplies commonly used in emergency and critical care settings.

Volunteer Benefits:

  • $20/hour compensation
  • Complimentary IVECCS registration when you commit to two half-day shifts
  • Base registration fee reimbursed after your volunteer commitment is completed

Responsibilities:

  • Assist lab logistics coordinators with unpacking/packing and organizing supplies
  • Prepare workshop and lab kits according to instructor supply lists
  • Sort and pack materials, manage returned items, and help maintain inventory
  • Support overall supply logistics for workshops and labs

Lab Runner

Help keep the hands-on workshops and wet labs at IVECCS running smoothly by joining our team of Lab Runners. This is a great opportunity to support the workshops and labs while getting a behind-the-scenes look at how these sessions come together.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Transporting lab supplies and equipment to workshop and lab rooms
  • Assisting with room setup and organization


**This role is active and will involve moving supplies weighing 50 lbs. or more.

Requirements:

  • Must be registered for IVECCS as an attendee, speaker, or exhibitor
  • Availability to assist during the following times:
    • 1.5 hours before morning sessions begin
    • Approximately 1.5 hours during lunch (@11:45am)
    • 1.5 hours after workshops and labs conclude (starting at 4:45 PM)

Compensation: Lab Runners will receive $20/per hour for their time and assistance.

Volunteer Your Well-Tempered Dog

IVECCS is looking for friendly, medium-sized dogs to participate in some of our workshops and labs! Labs are 4 hours long and completely non-invasive – just ultrasound or wellness exams.

 What’s Involved:

  • Watch and learn! You’re welcome to audit the lab at no charge and even earn CE credit
  • Receive $150 for each lab your dog participates in

Requirements:

  • Medium-sized, well-tempered dogs
  • Comfortable around people and other dogs in a lab setting
  • Stay with your dog for the duration of the lab
